14-Year-Old Leads Police on Pursuit in Stolen Vehicle, Faces Charges After Crash

In the early hours of January 12, 2024 at around 2:55 a.m., Deputy Williams from the Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a reported stolen vehicle in the 13200 block of Jones Road in northwest Houston. The driver of the vehicle refused to comply, prompting deputies to initiate a pursuit.
During the pursuit, the driver lost control of the stolen vehicle, resulting in a crash. The driver, a 14-year-old juvenile male, sustained minor injuries from the incident and was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
The juvenile was subsequently charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. Following the legal process, he was released into the custody of his mother. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
