11-year-old Boy Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Northside

Houston police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 5700 North Shepherd Drive in Northside around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, February 3rd.

The victim, believed to be an 11-year-old male, tragically lost his life in the incident. However, the identity of the deceased is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Reports indicate that a gray Dodge Charger was traveling southbound near the aforementioned address and approached the intersection of Tidwell Road. At that moment, the victim was crossing North Shepherd westbound when he was struck by the Dodge. The young male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was not in the crosswalk at the time of the crash. The driver of the Dodge remained present at the scene and was determined not to be impaired. After being questioned, the driver was released.

As the investigation is still ongoing, Houston police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the process.
