Woman Under Influence of Unknown Substance Assaults Deputy: Scratches Neck and Face in Confrontation

On January 11, 2024, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a report in the 11600 block of Aspenway Drive (Lakewood Forest area in northwest Harris County) regarding an unknown female exhibiting suspicious behavior on a resident’s front yard.

Upon their arrival, the deputies located the female, identified as 29-year-old Kathleen Rivas. However, she became verbally combative and refused to comply with verbal commands.

During the attempt to detain her, Rivas physically resisted and scratched a deputy on the neck and face multiple times, causing visible injury and pain. After a brief struggle, law enforcement successfully detained her.

Due to her suspected influence of an unknown substance, Rivas was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Constable Deputies, in coordination with the District Attorney’s Office, obtained a warrant for Kathleen Rivas. She is currently wanted by law enforcement for Assault on a Peace Officer. As of now, her bond has not been set by the 338th District Court.
