Woman Kills Man During Struggle in Houston; Grand Jury to Review

A fatal shooting at 4679 Weaver Road in Houston on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. The shooting occurred around 5:50 a.m., resulting in the death of a 32-year-old man. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Houston Police Department (HPD) patrol officers responded to the scene, where they found the unresponsive male with a gunshot wound. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department pronounced him deceased. Officers detained a 49-year-old female at the scene, who identified herself as the shooter.

According to the female, the male had attacked her, and after a brief struggle, she shot him. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was notified, and it was decided that the case would be presented to a grand jury for review.
