Woman Killed in Early-Morning Multi-Vehicle Crash on North Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed early Sunday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on the North Freeway in north Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 14500 block of I-45. A Honda Fit driven by an unidentified adult woman was traveling northbound in the main lanes with a flat tire when it was struck from behind by a Jeep Wrangler driven by an 18-year-old woman.
Following the initial impact, the Honda Fit made contact with two other vehicles, a Toyota Camry driven by a 34-year-old woman and a Mercedes-Benz driven by a 34-year-old man. The force of the collision caused the Jeep Wrangler to overturn onto its side.
The driver of the Honda Fit was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said no other injuries were reported, and there were no signs of intoxication among the other drivers involved.
The crash remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
