Woman Falls from Pickup and Dies After Hit-and-Run Crash on South Main Houston

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred around 1:50 a.m. on July 10 at 10400 Almeda Road in the South Main area.
The identity of the deceased woman is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, an unknown pickup truck was traveling northbound when the woman fell out of the truck’s bed. She was then struck by a second vehicle, also heading north, which fled the scene without stopping.
Witnesses reported that the woman had been standing, possibly dancing, in the bed of the pickup before falling.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the woman to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
