Woman Caught Shoplifting at Cypress Walmart; Meth and Stolen IDs Found in Vehicle

On July 27, 2025, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a reported shoplifting at the Walmart in the 26900 block of Northwest Freeway in Cypress. Upon arrival, deputies detained the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Tabatha Ross.

Investigators determined Ross concealed $178.00 worth of merchandise and exited the store without attempting to pay. During a search of her vehicle, deputies discovered suspected methamphetamine and several stolen identifying documents belonging to another person.

Ross was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. She is charged with Felony Theft with prior convictions, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information. Her bond was set at $17,500.00 by the 486th District Court. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
