Woman Arrested for Setting Massive Fire of Home in Southwest Montgomery County

Early Sunday morning, October 1, 2023, a devastating fire erupted in the 28000 block of Nichols Sawmill in Magnolia, Texas, drawing an extensive response from local firefighters. The Magnolia Firefighters, supported by 20 firetrucks and over 50 firefighters from 8 different departments, battled the multiple alarm blaze for several hours to bring it under control.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the emergency and identified a person of interest at the scene. Collaborating with Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office (MCFMO) Fire Investigators, they conducted a joint investigation that led to the arrest of 30-year-old Sarah Ariel Archie.

Archie has been charged with Arson of a habitation, a 1st-degree felony, in connection with the fire. The quick action and cooperation between law enforcement and fire officials played a crucial role in bringing the suspect into custody.
