Violent Suspect Apprehended After String of Robberies and Vehicle Theft in Harris County

On June 28, 2024, deputies from Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a stolen vehicle call on the 4500 block of Christopher Place. The vehicle’s owner was following a male suspect who had stolen his vehicle from a local business. Upon the deputies’ arrival, it was discovered that the suspect had exited the vehicle and physically assaulted another individual before fleeing the scene.

While patrolling the area, deputies received another call about the same suspect attempting to steal a complainant’s vehicle. Deputies quickly arrived and apprehended the suspect, identified as Jorge Mena-Gomez. Further investigation revealed that Mena-Gomez had robbed multiple victims in the area earlier that day.

Jorge Mena-Gomez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with robbery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. His bond has not been set by the 182nd District Court.
