Two Women Arrested on Felony Charges After 12-Year-Old Found Abused and Malnourished

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas—The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has arrested two women on felony charges following the discovery of a 12-year-old child who showed signs of severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, and malnutrition.
Deputies and detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to a call on September 28, 2025. Medical staff at a local hospital confirmed the child’s injuries were consistent with abuse and malnutrition.
As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained and executed on October 3, 2025, for Brenda Garcia, 38, and Tania Garcia, 37. Both women face felony charges including:
- Injury to a Child
- Unlawful Restraint
- Invasive Visual Recording
Sheriff Doolittle called the case “deeply disturbing” and stressed the priority of child safety. The child is currently safe and receiving medical care and support services.
