Authorities have captured two of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted sex offenders following coordinated efforts across state lines.

On October 8 and 9, Derrick Flowers, 44, and Spencer Giron, 48, were taken into custody in Houston, Texas, and Lake Charles, Louisiana, respectively. A Crime Stoppers reward will not be paid for either arrest.

Derrick Van Flowers was located in Houston after a traffic stop conducted by Texas Highway Patrol troopers. Investigators from the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division (CID), assigned to the Texas Anti-Gang Violent Crimes Squad, tracked Flowers using investigative leads. Flowers, wanted out of Harris County since April 2025 for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements, was arrested without incident.

Flowers’ criminal history includes a 2008 conviction for sexual assault of a child, involving a 15-year-old girl, and a 2010 conviction for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Meanwhile, Spencer Mandell Giron was arrested in Lake Charles, Louisiana, after a traffic stop conducted by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. DPS CID Special Agents from Beaumont coordinated with local law enforcement to locate Giron, who had been wanted out of Jefferson County since June 2025 for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Giron’s criminal record includes a 1998 conviction for aggravated sexual assault of a child, involving a 13-year-old girl, for which he served 11 years, and a 2017 federal drug offense, resulting in four years of federal confinement.

Both men were taken into custody without incident, and authorities confirmed they are now back in state custody.
