Two Juveniles Arrested After Attempted Car Burglaries in The Woodlands Neighborhood

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Two juveniles are in custody after deputies responded to reports of suspicious activity in a residential neighborhood early Thursday morning.
Just after 2:00 a.m. on February 6, 2026, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 6 Patrol Division were dispatched to the Wedgewood Forest Drive area in the Village of Panther Creek. A caller reported several individuals walking through private driveways and checking car door handles.
When deputies arrived, they located two suspects dressed in all black and wearing latex gloves. As deputies attempted to detain them, both suspects fled on foot into the surrounding area.
A perimeter was quickly established with assistance from the City of Conroe Police Department’s K9 Unit. With the help of residents who provided real-time updates, deputies and K9 officers were able to track down and apprehend both juveniles.
During the investigation, one of the juveniles was positively identified by a homeowner as the person attempting to enter their vehicle. That suspect was charged with Attempted Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest. The second juvenile was charged with Evading Arrest.
Officials credited alert residents and interagency cooperation for the swift arrests, calling it a strong example of community members and law enforcement working together to keep neighborhoods safe.
