Two drivers were taken to jail late Wednesday night after a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputy caught them street racing through The Woodlands.

Just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, a deputy assigned to The Woodlands Township was monitoring traffic on Research Forest Drive when he noticed a BMW sedan and a Chevrolet pickup stopped side-by-side at an eastbound intersection. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy watched both drivers rev their engines and then launch as soon as the light turned green, accelerating well above the flow of traffic as they tried to outrun each other down the roadway.

The deputy quickly initiated a traffic stop, and both drivers pulled over without incident. After speaking with them and reviewing what he observed, the deputy determined they had been racing and placed both under arrest.

The drivers were identified as 18-year-old Nicolas Francis Brezovar of The Woodlands and 26-year-old Caleb Eaves of Magnolia. Their vehicles were impounded at the scene, and both were transported to the Montgomery County Jail on Racing on a Highway charges.

The Sheriff’s Office noted that street racing continues to be a serious and dangerous problem, especially on well-traveled corridors like Research Forest Drive. Officials emphasized that the behavior puts not only the drivers at risk, but also other motorists and pedestrians who may have no time to react to a high-speed collision. Deputies say they will maintain strict enforcement on reckless driving incidents to keep the community’s roadways safe.
