Two Arrested After Violent Home Invasion Assault In El Paso County

SAN ELIZARIO, Texas – Two individuals have been arrested following a violent home invasion in El Paso County that left a man injured.
On Friday, March 13, 2026, deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1300 block of Four-Wheel Drive (San Elizario, south of El Paso, TX) in reference to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in progress.
Investigators determined that several individuals arrived at the residence armed with baseball bats and a tire iron. Two suspects forced their way into the home, assaulted the victim while demanding money, and caused damage to the front door and windows before fleeing the scene in two vehicles.
The male victim sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, deputies located one of the suspect vehicles near an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Berrendo Drive and detained four individuals believed to be involved.
After further investigation, detectives identified two suspects as responsible for the offense.
Magali Reyes, 35, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony. Her total bond was set at $41,000.
Kevin Eduardo Varela, 18, was also arrested and charged with criminal mischief, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony. His total bond was set at $36,000.
The investigation remains ongoing.
