Two Arrested After Downtown Houston Sidewalk Robbery and 12-Mile Police Chase

Two 18-year-olds have been arrested and charged in connection with an aggravated robbery that occurred on Sunday, April 6, 2025, around 8:30 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of Dallas Street in Downtown Houston.
Desmond Jackson and Chancellor Thompson are both charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and evading arrest in a motor vehicle in the 178th State District Court.
According to police, the victims were approached from behind by four unknown males while walking. Two of the suspects brandished handguns and demanded personal belongings. After taking the valuables, the suspects fled on foot toward San Jacinto Street. Surveillance footage later captured the suspects boarding a Metro rail train.
On May 30, 2025, the Houston Police Robbery Division released case details to the public. Crime Stoppers tips helped identify Jackson and Thompson. Warrants were issued for both suspects on June 13, 2025.
On July 7, 2025, a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper spotted a stolen black Chevrolet pickup in the 5400 block of Doolittle. When the Trooper attempted a traffic stop, the suspects fled, leading to a 12-mile vehicle pursuit ending at Calhoun and Yellowstone. A foot pursuit followed, and both suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail.
