Tragedy Strikes Georgetown Family: 6-Year-Old Victim of September 11 Attack Passes Away

In a heartbreaking turn of events, six-year-old Jeremy Tang Diaz succumbed to injuries sustained in a violent attack on September 11, 2023. Last week, Jeremy’s father, Arturo Diaz, shared the devastating news of his son’s passing.
The incident unfolded when deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of Rock Mill Loop in Georgetown on September 11, 2023. Authorities found that Daniel Logan, a 39-year-old male, had forcefully entered a residence wielding a baseball bat, resulting in the assault of two individuals, including young Jeremy. Both victims were promptly rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The ongoing investigation, led by detectives, remains in close collaboration with the District Attorney’s Office. Authorities are awaiting the results of the autopsy conducted by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office. Depending on the findings, and if deemed necessary, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the District Attorney’s Office, will present the case to a grand jury with the possibility of elevating charges to Capital Murder.
Arturo Diaz shared the heartbreaking news on November 14 via a GoFundMe post, recounting the distressing moment when he discovered his son unresponsive. Despite efforts to resuscitate Jeremy, the attempt proved unsuccessful.
