Traffic Stop in Houston Leads to Arrest of Wanted Man for Family Violence

In a routine traffic stop on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Toll Road Deputies from Constable Jerry Garcia’s Office apprehended a driver in the 7100 block of the South Sam Houston Tollway East for expired vehicle registration.

Upon further investigation during the stop, law enforcement discovered that the driver, identified as 20-year-old Dylan Michael Thornton, had an open warrant issued by The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office for Assault Family Violence Causing Bodily Injury.

Without incident, Thornton was safely taken into custody by Toll Road Deputies and subsequently transferred to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office to address the outstanding warrant.
