Tip Leads to Capture of Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive in Houston, Reward Paid

AUSTIN, TX — Texas authorities have captured Dante Dewayne Odom, 52, a Texas 10 Most Wanted sex offender and the state’s October Featured Fugitive. A Crime Stoppers reward will be paid for information leading to his arrest.
Odom was taken into custody on October 9 at his workplace in Houston. The arrest followed a tip that led Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Special Agents, Texas Highway Patrol Troopers, and the Office of the Texas Attorney General to his location.
Odom had been wanted out of Harris County since June 2025 for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements. He was elevated to Featured Fugitive status this month, with a reward of $4,000 for information leading to his capture.
His criminal record includes a 1992 conviction for burglary of a habitation with intent to violate or abuse the victim sexually, involving a 30-year-old female, for which he served 12 years. Odom has also been previously convicted multiple times for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements, as well as assault causing bodily injury to a family member. He was last released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in March 2022.
Odom was arrested without incident and is now back in state custody awaiting further proceedings.
Funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, Texas Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders or Criminal Illegal Immigrants. So far in 2025, DPS and other agencies have arrested 54 Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders and Criminal Illegal Immigrants, including 22 sex offenders and 13 criminal illegal immigrants – with $41,000 in rewards being paid for tips that yielded arrests.
