Three Suspects Arrested in Multi-Agency Auto Theft Operation in Sugar Land and Houston
Gaybriel Quezada and Eduardo Martinez

In a joint operation with the Houston Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety, the Sugar Land Police Department’s Crime Suppression Team monitored an organized auto theft group that entered the city.

Officers observed the suspects steal a vehicle from the parking lot of Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. As the group attempted to flee, DPS troopers boxed them in, preventing their escape. Following a short foot pursuit, all three suspects—two adults and one juvenile—were quickly apprehended.

Gaybriel Quezada and Eduardo Martinez are charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (2nd-degree felony), Theft (3rd-degree felony), Possession of a Criminal Instrument (state jail felony), and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (Class A misdemeanor). Martinez faces additional charges of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (state jail felony), Felony Evading Arrest, and four active felony warrants.

Excellent work by our SLPD Crime Suppression Team, and thank you to our partners at HPD and Texas DPS for their collaboration and teamwork in keeping our community safe.
