Three Arrested After Deputies Recover Stolen RV and Meth in Harris County

On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at approximately 7:40 p.m., deputies from the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), in collaboration with Baytown Police Department, recovered a stolen RV and arrested three individuals on multiple felony charges.
The RV, stolen earlier from the 8000 block of SH 146 in Baytown, was being towed by a pickup truck traveling westbound into Harris County. Deputies interdicted the vehicle near IH-10 and North Main Street.
The driver, Michael Frieden, and passengers, Michael Murphy and Chad Tholen, were detained at the scene. A CCSO K9 unit alerted deputies to the presence of contraband inside the vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered suspected methamphetamine, bolt cutters, and the camper’s cut lock.

All three suspects were transported to the Chambers County Jail and now face charges of theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000, engaging in organized criminal activity, unlawful use of a criminal instrument, and possession of a controlled substance.
Sheriff Brian Hawthorne commended his team, stating, “This is a great example of our deputies working together to protect our community. Thanks to their hard work and the assistance of our K9 unit, we recovered stolen property and took dangerous drugs off the streets.”
