HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A 31-year-old man with multiple prior theft convictions was arrested after deputies say he ran from them and tried to climb onto a building during a foot chase in northwest Harris County.

Deputies with Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded Sept. 28 to the 1900 block of Tomball Parkway after receiving a report of a theft in progress.

When deputies arrived, the suspect briefly resisted before running away, according to the constable’s office.

Deputies chased the man on foot and caught him as he allegedly attempted to climb a ladder to reach the top of a nearby building.

The suspect was identified as Todd Turner.

Investigators said a records check showed Turner had multiple previous theft convictions. The constable’s office did not provide details about those convictions or identify what Turner was accused of stealing in the Sept. 28 incident.

Turner was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of theft with previous convictions and evading arrest.

His bond was set at $200 in Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 10.
