Texas DPS Adds Houston and Odessa Men to Most Wanted Sex Offenders List
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced the addition of Braylon Lee Smart and Christopher Michael Anderson to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list. Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest of each individual. All tips will remain anonymous.
Braylon Lee Smart, 27, hailing from Houston, has been wanted since February 2023 in Harris County for evading arrest/detention with a previous conviction. Additionally, warrants were issued in October 2023 in Harris and Fort Bend counties for Smart’s failure to register as a sex offender. Smart is also wanted in Orange County, Florida, for attempted homicide, and in Maricopa County, Arizona, for failure to appear. He has previous convictions, including battery on a law enforcement officer in Florida in 2020 and sexual assault in Texas in the same year, for which he served a two-year sentence in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) prison.
Smart stands at 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, and sports tattoos on his neck, chest, and both arms. He has connections to Houston, Missouri City, Texas, and Orlando, Florida.
Christopher Michael Anderson, 46, residing in Odessa, has been sought since October 2023, when the Ector County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements. In 2003, Anderson was convicted of obstruction/retaliation and sentenced to 10 years in confinement. Additionally, he was convicted on four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child in the same year and received a concurrent sentence of 20 years for each offense. Anderson was released on parole from a TDCJ prison in 2017.
Anderson is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 175 pounds, with a tattoo on his upper right arm and scars on his back and near his right eye.
