Texas City Man Charged with Murder After Stabbing His Mother

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at approximately 7:54 PM, Texas City Police Department Patrol Division officers responded to a 911 call regarding a male subject with visible injuries at the Wendy’s located in the 2800 block of Palmer. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 30-year-old Johnathan Taylor, who reported that he had been robbed. Officers observed multiple stab wounds on both of Taylor’s arms.

During the investigation, Taylor disclosed that he had attacked his mother at their residence in the 2900 block of Tarpy. Officers were dispatched to check on the welfare of his mother. Upon arrival at the home, they found 68-year-old Regina McIntyre lying on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds.

Texas City EMS responded to the scene to assess McIntyre’s injuries. Taylor was transported by ground ambulance, while McIntyre was airlifted to UTMB Galveston for urgent medical care.

At approximately 10:15 PM, it was reported that Regina McIntyre succumbed to her injuries. The Galveston County District Attorney was notified of the incident, and charges of murder were accepted against Johnathan Taylor, with bond set at $500,000. After receiving medical treatment, Taylor was transported to the Galveston County Jail to face the murder charge.
