Texans Auto Repair Employee Threatened with Gun, Suspect Arrested
A terrifying incident unfolded at Texans Auto Repair on Blackhawk Boulevard in Houston when an employee was threatened with a gun by a customer.
According to the Harris County Constable’s Office, the employee said a white male came in for an oil change. The male walked back to his vehicle and the employee followed him. As the employee approached the man’s vehicle, the man opened the door immediately and pointed a gun at the employee.
The employee slowly backed up and completed the service for the oil change. The suspect then left the business in a 2017 Ford Escape.
Following the incident, the employee promptly contacted the Harris County Constable’s Office to report the threat. The suspect was identified as Toby Paul Couchman.
Deputies responded to the scene and, utilizing the customer’s vehicle registration information, were able to identify Couchman. They subsequently located him at his residence and took him into custody without incident.
The Harris County Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and accepted a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon against Couchman.
Couchman was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where he was booked and subsequently released to jail staff.
