Teenage Son Arrested for Fatal Shooting of Parents in Conroe

On February 7, 2024, at 9:20 pm, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a call regarding an assault with a firearm in the 9000 block of Waller Street, Conroe, Texas.

Upon arrival, deputies found an adult male and an adult female with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, the male victim, identified as 41-year-old Leroy Constantine Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit, along with Crime Scene Investigators, are investigating the incident. They determined that the victims’ 17-year-old son, Tra Vontay Constantine, shot his parents after a verbal argument.

Tra Vontay Constantine surrendered to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and is now in custody at the Montgomery County Jail. He faces charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Murder, with a bond set at $250,000.

Authorities believe this was an isolated incident within the family, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
