Teen on Bicycle Arrested After Smash-and-Grab Burglary at FM 1488 Business in Conroe

Around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary alarm at a business in the 6000 block of FM 1488. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the front glass of the business had been shattered.

While reviewing surveillance footage with a representative from the business, deputies observed a male suspect fleeing the scene on a bicycle. Deputies began canvassing the surrounding area and soon located a male matching the suspect’s description.

The individual was identified as Kaleb Andrew Barrick, 18, of Conroe, Texas. Barrick was taken into custody without incident and found in possession of property stolen from the business.

He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and charged with Burglary of a Building.

Sheriff Wesley Doolittle commended the swift action of his deputies, stating, “Their quick response and strong teamwork led to the arrest of the suspect so he could be held accountable, and to the recovery of the stolen property. We have zero tolerance for crime in Montgomery County, and let this be a message: if you commit a crime here, we will catch you.”

The case remains under investigation.
