Teen Killed in Verbal Conflict That Turned Deadly in Austin

On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at approximately 12:37 p.m., the Austin Police Department (APD) received a disturbance call at the intersection of Deer Run Drive and Blue Dawn Trail. Responding officers discovered 17-year-old Alexander Jaimes at the scene with a gunshot wound.

Jaimes was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Homicide unit detectives and crime scene specialists arrived to process the area.

As the investigation unfolded, it was revealed that Jaimes had been engaged in a verbal conflict with a female suspect. The situation escalated into a physical altercation, culminating in the suspect firing a gunshot at Jaimes.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the case remains an active and ongoing investigation.
