Teen Arrested, Second Suspect Wanted in Beaumont Homicide

BEAUMONT, Texas — A 17-year-old has been arrested and another suspect is wanted following a fatal shooting Tuesday morning, according to the Beaumont Police Department.

Officers responded around 7:45 a.m. on March 24, 2026, to the 1900 block of Rafes Way for reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they located 31-year-old Joseph Manuel inside a residence with apparent fatal injuries.

Detectives launched an investigation and obtained a description of a suspect vehicle. Using license plate reader technology, the department’s Real Time Crime Center helped officers locate the vehicle in the 5400 block of Pine Street.

Bryson Parkerson, 17, of Beaumont, was taken into custody without incident and charged with Tampering with Evidence in connection with the case.

Through further investigation and video surveillance, detectives identified 24-year-old Corey Comeaux as a suspect in Manuel’s death. An arrest warrant has been issued for Comeaux on a charge of Murder.

Investigators believe additional individuals may have been involved, and more charges are possible.
