Teen Arrested in Fatal Southwest Houston Shooting

HOUSTON, TX – Houston police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man on December 19, 2025.

LeBron Augustus, 17, has been charged with murder in the 230th Criminal District Court for the death of John Pascuasa-Menendez.

According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives S. Chettry and H. Martinez, patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex in the 10606 block of Brooklet Drive around 8 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Pascuasa-Menendez in an alley suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators quickly identified Augustus as the suspect. He was taken into custody and formally charged for his role in the incident. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
