Teen Arrested in Deadly Courtyard Shooting at Haverstock Hill Apartments

A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at the Haverstock Hill Apartments in northeast Harris County late last year.

On Saturday, December 21, 2024, deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call at the apartment complex located at 5609 Aldine Bender Road. Upon arrival, deputies found 36-year-old Larry Duncan unresponsive in the courtyard. Duncan had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Duncan, a father of six, lived at the complex with his wife and children.

Following an investigation, HCSO detectives identified Kenerien Evans, 19, as the suspect in the case. On Thursday, May 29, 2025, Evans was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of Murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
