Teen Arrested for Stabbing Man to Death During Fight in the Edgebrook Area

HOUSTON, Texas — An 18-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing earlier this month in southeast Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, Luis Vazquez, 18, is charged with murder in the 183rd Criminal District Court in connection with the death of Talha Abdul, 41.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on March 3, 2026, at an apartment complex located at 1201 Redford Street in the Edgebrook Area.

Houston police officers responded to reports of a stabbing and found Abdul lying on a front porch suffering from multiple stab wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Security guards at the complex told investigators that Abdul had been involved in a physical altercation with another man before the stabbing occurred.

Detectives later identified Vazquez as the suspect. He was formally charged on Thursday, March 12.

The investigation remains ongoing.
