Teen Arrested for Series of Armed Robberies in Harris County

On August 21, 2025, Harris County Sheriff’s Office District 3 deputies responded to multiple armed robberies in the Crosby area.

The first incident occurred at Denny’s Restaurant, 17225 Crosby Freeway, where an employee reported that a suspect entered the business, pointed a firearm, and demanded money. The suspect fled with approximately $170–$200 in cash. Surveillance footage showed the suspect wearing a camouflage face covering, black T-shirt, gray pants, and armed with a black handgun.

Later that day, deputies responded to Boost Mobile, 439 Sheldon Road in Channelview, where two victims reported being robbed at gunpoint. One victim surrendered roughly $250, while the second was forced to kneel and surrender his wallet, debit/credit cards, cash, and company phone. Surveillance confirmed the suspect wore sunglasses, a black hoodie with a Marilyn Monroe graphic, blue jeans, and white shoes.

That evening, a third incident occurred at 7-Eleven, 9735 Sheldon Road in Houston, where a suspect attempted to rob a cashier. The employee escaped, and the suspect fled on foot without taking any property.

Through investigative efforts, detectives identified a suspect vehicle—a black 2010 Chrysler 200—located later in the 16900 block of Crosby Freeway. A male matching the suspect’s description was seen entering the vehicle. A traffic stop led to the recovery of a black Glock handgun, narcotics, stolen debit/credit cards, and clothing matching that worn during the robberies.

The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Nico Bentancourt. Bentancourt was taken into custody on unrelated charges and later confessed during an interview with HCSO detectives to robbing Denny’s, Boost Mobile, and 7-Eleven, and admitted using the recovered handgun.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has filed three counts of Aggravated Robbery against Bentancourt, who was booked into the Harris County Jail.
