Sweetwater Man Arrested After Domestic Assault Call Leads to Major Drug Seizure

SWEETWATER, Texas – A domestic disturbance call in Sweetwater led to the arrest of a man and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics, cash, firearms, and vehicles, police said.

Officers with the Sweetwater Police Department responded on the afternoon of Jan. 22, 2026, to a reported disturbance in the 1600 block of Sam Houston Street. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female victim who had visible injuries. She told officers she had been assaulted inside the residence, and officers observed her personal property had been thrown outside.

The suspect was identified as Silas Saddler. When Saddler opened the door, officers detected a strong odor consistent with an illegal substance coming from inside the home. Following an investigation into the assault allegations, Saddler was taken into custody.

Based on evidence observed at the scene, investigators obtained a search warrant as part of a narcotics investigation. During the execution of the warrant, detectives and patrol officers with the Sweetwater Police Department, along with investigators from the 32nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office, seized approximately $30,000 in cash believed to be drug proceeds, a large quantity of ecstasy and other illegal narcotics, additional prescription medications believed to be unlawfully possessed, and approximately 30 pounds of marijuana.

Authorities also recovered two handguns, one confirmed to be stolen, and three luxury vehicles believed to be associated with narcotics distribution.

Saddler was transported to the Nolan County Jail and booked on multiple charges, including assault causing bodily injury to a family member, delivery of marijuana between five and 50 pounds, several counts of manufacture or delivery of controlled substances in various penalty groups, and theft of a firearm. His total bond was set at $130,000.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police said they continue to support victims of domestic violence and pursue criminal activity that threatens community safety.
