Suspect Subdued with Taser in Traffic Stop Unveiling False Identity and Open Warrants

On January 9, 2024, Deputy Morgan from Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle in the 9900 block of the Gulf Freeway. The vehicle had a defective headlight and expired registration, and the passenger was observed not wearing a seatbelt.

During the stop, the passenger, initially identified as Jammison Dorsey, attempted to evade on foot after Deputy Morgan returned to his patrol vehicle to check identification. Deputy Morgan pursued and safely subdued the individual using a Taser. Subsequent investigation revealed that the passenger had provided false information and was positively identified as 38-year-old Kiersten Vienka Dorsey.

A check of Dorsey’s information uncovered open warrants from the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office and Harrison County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and charges for Evading Arrest/Detention and Fail to ID to Peace Officer/Fugitive were accepted.

Kiersten Vienka Dorsey was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where bond was set at a total of $200.
