Suspect Sought After Firing Gun at Iowa Colony Officer

IOWA COLONY, Texas — On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., an Iowa Colony Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on Meridiana Parkway. The vehicle came to a stop on Crystal View Drive within city limits.
During the encounter, one individual exited the vehicle and fired a gun in the direction of the officer before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported.
A large-scale response followed, with assistance from the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, Pearland Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety, including aerial and K-9 units. Authorities were able to identify a suspect, and an arrest is pending under a warrant for Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant, a first-degree felony.
Law enforcement officials stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time. The investigation remains active, and additional information will be released when it is appropriate to do so.
