Suspect in Fatal Shooting Incident at Richmond Avenue Parking Lot Identified, Still at Large

Charges have been officially filed against the suspect wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of Zion Sneed, 24, who was found dead at 8602 Richmond Avenue on July 15. The suspect, Cameron Batts, 26, has been charged with murder in the 351st State District Court.

Houston Police Department (HPD) officers responded to a shooting report at 6:35 a.m. and discovered Mr. Sneed outside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by Houston Fire Department paramedics, Sneed was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to witnesses, the shooting occurred in a parking lot outside an after-hours club located at 9275 Richmond Avenue. Detectives were informed that a fight involving several individuals escalated into a tragic shooting.

After a thorough investigation, Cameron Batts was identified as the suspect. On Wednesday, September 27, he was officially charged for his involvement in the incident. As of now, Batts remains at-large.
