Suspect Dead After Barricading Self with Children in Beaumont Apartment

A male suspect is dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after he assaulted two women, threatened them with a weapon, and then barricaded himself inside an apartment with three children early Saturday morning, June 14, 2025.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to a disturbance call at the Regency Place Apartments, located at 5550 Folsom. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had assaulted and threatened two women, pointing a weapon at them, before barricading himself inside an apartment with three children.

Patrol and Special Assignment Unit (SAU) officers quickly responded and were able to safely remove all victims from the residence. A secure perimeter was established, and SWAT and Hostage Negotiators were called to the scene to attempt a peaceful resolution.

After several hours of attempted negotiations, SWAT officers made entry into the apartment. They located the suspect deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The children were not harmed physically during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
