Suspect Charged with Murder After Man Fatally Shot at Willowbrook Area Apartment Complex

HOUSTON, Texas — A suspect has been charged following a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in northwest Houston earlier this week.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded around 12:45 p.m. on February 24 to a shooting at The Abbey at Grant Road Apartments, located at 9611 Grant Road in the Willowbrook area.
When officers arrived, they located a 52-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the apartment complex parking lot. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending notification of family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Investigators determined the victim had been standing in the parking lot when he was shot by a suspect who fled the scene.
Following further investigation, detectives identified Johna Robinson, 49, as the suspect. Robinson was later taken into custody and charged with murder in the 176th Criminal District Court.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Montalvo and Detective D. Higgs are leading the investigation.
