Suspect Brandishes Firearm, Round Rock Officer Fires Weapon in Domestic Disturbance

A Round Rock police officer discharged his weapon during a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex on February 17, 2025, at approximately 4 a.m. No one was injured in the incident.
Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a disturbance at the MAA apartment complex located at 1800 Plateau Vista Blvd. The caller reported hearing an argument between a male and female and believed a firearm was involved after hearing the female pleading for her life.
Upon arrival, officers encountered the suspect, 34-year-old Alexander Tolentino of Round Rock, who brandished a firearm. An officer then discharged his weapon.
Tolentino was taken into custody and transported to the Williamson County Jail, where he faces charges of assault family violence.
Officer Mason Gates, a one-year veteran of the Round Rock Police Department, has been placed on administrative leave in accordance with department policy.
