Suspect Attempts to Run Over Police Officers at Jaguar’s Gold Club in El Paso
On April 17, 23, Pebble Hills Regional Command officers were driving in the parking lot of 11377 Gateway West, searching for illegal activity. They observed a vehicle in the parking lot with two occupants.
Officers made contact with Damian Arce (29) and Tyisha Mullen (27). Officers then asked Damian to step out of the car to investigate further the suspicion of marijuana usage.
Damian then attempted to flee the area by driving away, striking the police car and several customer vehicles while dragging the officers.
An altercation also ensued between the officers and the occupants as they were taken into custody.
While the officers were attempting to take the two into custody, Cantrell James Miller (29) drove in the direction of the officers while revving the engine as if he was going to run over the officers. As other assisting officers began to arrive, Cantrell drove around the parking lot attempting to evade the officers. At one point, he placed a one-year veteran officer in fear for his safety, causing the officer to fire his gun.
The vehicle fled the scene and was later abandoned in central El Paso.
On April 22, 2023, Miller was stopped with narcotics and taken into custody without incident.
