Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting on Pershing Street

HOUSTON – A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man on February 3, 2025.
Demetrius Donte Jackson, 20, is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court.
According to Houston police, officers responded to a shooting call at 4500 Pershing Street around 9:45 p.m. and found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a gas station at 7401 Cullen Boulevard. The victim, identified as Adam Broomfield, 33, was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said there was an altercation among a group of females before a male suspect fired shots, striking Broomfield. The suspect then fled the scene.
Further investigation identified Jackson as the suspect. He was arrested on July 21 by HPD’s Southeast Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team.
The investigation is ongoing.
