Suspect Arrested in Fatal Hillcroft Avenue Shooting

Donte Deshun Coleman, 20, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 41-year-old man on March 31st in the 5900 block of Hillcroft Avenue in the Sharpstown area.

Houston police responded to a shooting call at approximately 10:20 p.m. and found the victim deceased after being transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. Witnesses reported hearing an initial gunshot followed by more shots minutes later and saw a suspect fleeing the scene.

Further investigation identified Coleman as the suspect. He was arrested without incident on Thursday, April 10th, by the HPD Midwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team and booked into the Harris County Jail. The identity of the victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
