Suspect Arrested in Armed Robbery at Rosenberg Gas Station
Arrested: Raymond Colbert Jr.

Rosenberg, Texas – Police have arrested a Houston man accused of robbing a Valero gas station at gunpoint just one block from the Rosenberg Police Department.

On Saturday, November 8, 2025, around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery in progress at the Valero at 1925 4th Street. The store clerk told officers that a man armed with a handgun demanded money and fled with about $400 in cash.

Officers quickly set a perimeter in the surrounding area and recovered cash that appeared to have been dropped as the suspect ran. Investigators also identified several nearby surveillance cameras that captured portions of the suspect’s movements.

As detectives worked the case over the following week, the Rosenberg Police Strategic Enforcement Team stopped a man who matched the suspect’s description for a traffic violation. The man, identified as 26-year-old Raymond Colbert Jr. of Houston, was arrested on unrelated charges.

Investigators later received information that Colbert was staying at a local Motel 6 with his girlfriend. With consent to search the room, detectives recovered the clothing and firearm believed to have been used in the robbery.

After reviewing the evidence, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Colbert. On November 15, 2025, Fort Bend County Judge Toni Wallace signed warrants for Aggravated Robbery (first-degree felony) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (third-degree felony). Bond was set at $50,000.

Police noted that Colbert has a criminal history dating back to 2017 and was recently released from the Texas Department of Corrections on February 26, 2025.
