Suspect Arrested for Mail Theft, Credit Card Fraud, and Drug Possession in Cypress

On December 10, 2024, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s office conducted a felony warrant service at the Fairfield Ranch Apartment Homes, located at 20500 Cypresswood Drive. The suspect, identified as Jason Weiss, was wanted for fraudulently using a victim’s credit card information obtained from stolen mail in the Fairfield Villages Community and surrounding areas in the Cypress Hill MUD district.

Weiss attempted to evade capture but was quickly apprehended with the assistance of Constable K9 “Lanzo.” During the arrest, deputies discovered four makeshift USPS arrow keys used to access mailboxes, cocaine, and stolen mail from victims in the Fairfield Community.

Further investigation revealed Weiss had been arrested earlier in the year for similar offenses. He was taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail, facing charges of Credit Card Abuse, Theft of Mail, Unlawful Possession of a Criminal Instrument, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Weiss is currently awaiting bond determination out of the 338th District Court.
