Suspect Arrested Following Bank Jugging Incident in Spring

Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 20-year-old suspect Wednesday afternoon, December 3rd, after a bank jugging incident that began in New Caney and ended in the Spring area.
The victim told deputies he had withdrawn cash from a bank in New Caney and then drove to Spring to complete a private purchase. When he arrived, an unidentified man approached his vehicle, grabbed the cash, and ran. The victim realized he’d been followed from the bank and called 911.
A quick, coordinated response unfolded across several agencies. Deputies from Montgomery County, officers from the Splendora Police Department, troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Precinct 4 Constables set up a perimeter in the area. K-9 teams and drones were brought in to track the suspect as he fled on foot.
The search ended around 12:30 p.m. when officers found and arrested 20-year-old David Tramaine Florence inside the perimeter. Investigators believe Florence may be connected to additional crimes, and the case remains active.
Sheriff Wesley Doolittle thanked the agencies involved, noting that strong collaboration helped bring the incident to a swift and safe conclusion. He added that the county will continue taking firm action against bank jugging, calling it a crime that won’t be allowed to gain traction in Montgomery County.
