Violent Suspect Arrested After Assault, Robbery and Chase at Spring Clinic

SPRING, Texas — A suspect accused of assaulting and robbing a victim was arrested after returning to the scene and leading deputies on a brief chase, according to Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

On April 2, 2026, deputies responded to a local emergency clinic in the 1600 block of Louetta Road, where a victim was being treated for multiple injuries. Investigators determined the victim had been assaulted and had personal items forcibly taken during the incident.

While deputies were still at the clinic, the suspect drove into the parking lot. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to comply, initiating a short pursuit.

Authorities were able to stop the vehicle, but the suspect fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood. After a brief foot chase, deputies apprehended the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Eric Ayers.

Further investigation revealed Ayers is a convicted felon and was in possession of a loaded firearm at the time of his arrest.

Ayers was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with robbery causing bodily injury, evading arrest in a motor vehicle, and felon in possession of a firearm. His total bond was set at $225,000.

The investigation remains ongoing.
