Surveillance Photos Released in Houston Fatal Shooting on Comal Street

Houston police have released surveillance photos of a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in the 7900 block of Comal Street around 10:45 a.m. on October 22.

The victim has been identified as John Crockett, 54.

Investigators say the suspect was seen wearing a blue shirt, blue pants, and black shoes, and was riding a bicycle.

According to HPD Homicide Division detectives, officers responded to a shooting call and found a man with gunshot wounds inside a crashed vehicle. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police determined that Crockett was driving when the suspect approached his vehicle, made contact, and then shot him. The suspect fled southbound on foot, and the victim’s vehicle crashed into a telephone pole.

Detectives later obtained surveillance images showing the suspect.
