Surveillance Photos Released in Connection with Fatal Stabbing on Main Street
Wanted suspect

The Houston Police Department has released surveillance photos of a suspect linked to a fatal stabbing incident that occurred at 4500 Main Street in Midtown around 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, January 7.

The suspect is described as a possible Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with dark hair. He was carrying a black backpack and wore a dark windbreaker jacket along with a ball cap. Two surveillance photos of the suspect are attached to the release.

The victim, a 53-year-old male, remains pending identification verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Responding to a disturbance call on the METRO Rail line platform at 1900 Main Street, METRO police officers conducted a search upon arrival but did not locate the individuals involved. Dispatch then informed officers of a stabbing victim discovered in one of the rail cars at the 4500 block of Main Street near the Wheeler Avenue stop. Officers found an unresponsive male inside the rail car, with paramedics pronouncing him deceased at the scene due to at least one stab wound.

Detectives have obtained a surveillance photo of the suspect, and current evidence suggests that this incident is an isolated one involving the two males.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
