At around 10:00 a.m., Precinct 4 deputies responded to a home in the 21300 block of Hannover Forest Drive in Spring after receiving reports of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found Brown suffering from a gunshot wound inside the residence. Emergency medical crews were called to the scene, but despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between Dailey and her stepmother over money. Dailey was trying to get money from her stepmother who didn’t have any. Detectives determined Dailey retrieved a firearm during the dispute and shot Brown before fleeing the scene.

Dailey was later located, taken into custody without incident, and booked into the Harris County Jail. She is charged with murder and remains held pending court proceedings.
