South Texas Man Arrested After Stabbing Family Member During Confrontation Over Beer
On Thursday, September 19, 2024, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a stabbing incident in the 30000 block of Calle Alegre in Los Fresnos, Texas. Deputies encountered a male victim on the roadway who had been stabbed twice. The victim informed deputies that the stabbing occurred after a confrontation with Roman Garcia over a beer the victim had purchased.
According to the victim, Garcia used a pocketknife to stab him in the left shoulder during the argument, and the altercation escalated, leading to another stab wound to the victim’s left leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
Deputies later located Roman Garcia on La Coma Street, where he was found with injuries from the confrontation. Emergency Medical Services transported Garcia to a hospital for medical treatment.
A witness interviewed by investigators stated that Garcia had admitted to the stabbing and was seen treating his own wounds after the altercation. Once Garcia was released from the hospital, he was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Family Violence and taken to the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center for booking. Garcia invoked his right to remain silent during questioning.
